Bring a Slingshot and Stone Ammo, track the southern entrance, shoot both glowing door weak points, follow Evernight → Gate of Life → Dreamfall, and repair camps before deeper fights.

Claim the Basic Tools Manual

1STEP 1 OF 8

Claim the Basic Tools Manual

Open the relevant profession or reward screen and claim the Basic Tools Manual. The manual is what moves the required tools into your crafting flow.

After claiming, confirm that the Slingshot or related recipes appear at Worktable I.

  • Press the claim button.
  • Check Worktable I afterward.
  • Keep the quest tracked.

Completing the objective is not enough if the manual remains unclaimed.

Craft the Slingshot
Image 2At Worktable I, select Slingshot and read the live requirement list.
2STEP 2 OF 8

Craft the Slingshot

Open Worktable I and select the Slingshot. Gather or process every missing part shown on the right, then craft with an open inventory slot.

Put the Slingshot on the hotbar before entering the forest so you are not rearranging inventory beside enemies.

  • Read the recipe panel.
  • Craft with a free slot.
  • Move to the hotbar.

Use the live recipe panel if an Early Access update changes the materials.

Make Stone Ammo before leaving
Image 3Use the Ammo Maker and collect the finished Stone Ammo.
3STEP 3 OF 8

Make Stone Ammo before leaving

Craft or place the Ammo Maker, select Stone Ammo, and produce more than the exact minimum. The door, enemies, and missed shots all consume ammunition.

Collect the completed stack and confirm it is in your bag before starting the trip.

  • Enough ammo for the door.
  • Extra shots for enemies.
  • One free slot for forest loot.
!

Arriving with only a few shots can force a full return trip after opening the first obstacle.

Track the entrance from Home
Image 4Start at Home, set the southern gate marker, and follow the road instead of cutting blindly through terrain.
4STEP 4 OF 8

Track the entrance from Home

Open the map at Home and place or track the Moonlit Forest entrance. Follow the marked road toward the southern gate.

Top up stamina and clear bag space before crossing the threshold; the first useful trip should include loot, not just sightseeing.

  • Set the marker.
  • Clear inventory space.
  • Bring recovery food.
!
Do not miss this

Do not follow the deep-forest map before you have actually opened the entrance.

Shoot both glowing weak points
Image 5The damaged door has two highlighted targets; both must be hit.
5STEP 5 OF 8

Shoot both glowing weak points

Equip the Slingshot, stand where both glowing points are visible, and shoot each one. Watch for the objective update or door reaction after the second hit.

If nothing happens, reposition and make sure the shot landed on the glowing target rather than the surrounding wall.

  • Hit weak point one.
  • Hit weak point two.
  • Wait for the door response.
!
Do not miss this

A shot can visually pass close to the target without registering; use a clean angle.

Follow the first safe route
Image 6Use the annotated order: Evernight, Gate of Life, then Dreamfall.
6STEP 6 OF 8

Follow the first safe route

Once inside, move through Evernight first, then toward Gate of Life and Dreamfall. This order keeps the route readable and brings you to the first useful camp and combat areas.

Do not chase every side path on the first visit. Learn the main line, activate what you can, and return with better gear.

  • Evernight first.
  • Gate of Life second.
  • Dreamfall after the camp.
!
Do not miss this

The forest map is visually dense; rely on activated landmarks and your own marker.

Repair camps before pushing deeper
Image 7The marked camp is a safety and orientation point; interact with it before continuing.
7STEP 7 OF 8

Repair camps before pushing deeper

Repair or activate the Gate of Life camp when the interaction becomes available. Camps break the forest into manageable trips and make later routes easier to understand.

Use the pause to check ammo, health, bag space, and the next objective.

  • Activate the camp.
  • Check supplies.
  • Store the route in memory before moving on.
!
Do not miss this

Running past the camp can turn a small mistake deeper in the forest into a long recovery walk.

Circle the Runebird and shoot between attacks
Image 8Move sideways, wait for the attack window, then fire instead of standing still.
8STEP 8 OF 8

Circle the Runebird and shoot between attacks

Keep moving around the Runebird rather than backing into terrain. Fire during the gap between its attacks, then reposition.

The goal of the first fight is safe repetition, not maximum damage. Preserve health and ammo so the forest trip remains useful after the battle.

  • Circle sideways.
  • Shoot between attacks.
  • Do not empty the whole ammo stack at once.
!
Do not miss this

Standing still while aiming is the easiest way to trade unnecessary damage.
