1STEP 1 OF 6

Open the phone Bag Expansion tutorial

Use the phone tutorial when the bag screen is unfamiliar. It highlights the bag expansion page and explains the basic interaction.

This is faster than clicking every character or shop looking for a bag vendor; the upgrade is handled from your own inventory interface.

  • Open Phone.
  • Select Tutorials.
  • Choose Bag Expansion.

There is no need to search town for a dedicated bag vendor.

Press Expand and inspect the material row
Image 2The Expand button sits at the lower left; missing materials appear on the upgrade panel.
2STEP 2 OF 6

Press Expand and inspect the material row

Open the bag and press Expand. Hover each missing material icon to reveal its name and count.

Write down the complete list before closing the menu. Later upgrades use processed components, so guessing by icon is unreliable.

  • Check current slot count.
  • Press Expand.
  • Hover every missing icon.
!
Do not miss this

Do not buy random materials based on color or shape; read the item name.

Build the processors before chasing later tiers
Image 3Later bag upgrades require processed parts from a compact machine chain.
3STEP 3 OF 6

Build the processors before chasing later tiers

Set up the furnace, worktable, and relevant material processors near home. Feed them in parallel rather than crafting one component at a time.

Keep the upgrade panel’s quantities in mind and collect every finished output before returning to the bag menu.

  • Queue stone or metal processing.
  • Queue wood or fiber processing.
  • Collect all outputs.
!
Do not miss this

Raw materials may be abundant while the processed version is still the true bottleneck.

Protect the materials in storage
Image 4Keep upgrade parts close to the machines and away from general sale stock.
4STEP 4 OF 6

Protect the materials in storage

Move upgrade materials into a dedicated chest or keep them grouped in the bag. This prevents accidental sale when you visit the General Store.

A small “next upgrade” reserve is more useful than turning every processed part into quick coins.

  • Separate sale stock.
  • Reserve processed parts.
  • Keep one free bag slot.
!
Do not miss this

Selling one missing processed component can add another full machine cycle to the upgrade.

Confirm the upgrade before a long route
Image 5Return to the same menu only when every icon is filled.
5STEP 5 OF 6

Confirm the upgrade before a long route

Press Expand again and verify all material counts are satisfied. Confirm the upgrade, then close and reopen the bag to check the new slot count.

Perform this before Moonlit Forest, long fishing sessions, or multi-request runs so the extra space immediately saves a return trip.

  • All icons filled.
  • Confirm upgrade.
  • Verify new slot count.
!
Do not miss this

Do not start a long route with the upgrade materials still occupying most of the old bag.

Use the extra rows deliberately
Image 6Reserve new space for ammo, recovery, quest items, and forest loot.
6STEP 6 OF 6

Use the extra rows deliberately

Treat the added slots as route capacity, not an invitation to carry every stack. For the forest, reserve dedicated spaces for ammo, food, tools, and new materials.

For fishing or requests, keep one or two rows open so rare catches and rewards cannot be blocked.

  • Tools and ammo.
  • Food or recovery.
  • Open spaces for loot.

A larger bag can still fill instantly if every common resource remains in it.
